DIFO (Danish Internet Forum) strengthens its position in the Danish internet society with the Association of Danish Media as a new member of the association.
DIFO is happy to welcome the Association of Danish Media as a new member of the association. DIFO has the overall responsibility for the top-level domain “.dk”, and the association consists of members from the Danish internet society that either represent suppliers, professional users or private users. The Association of Danish Media will join the group of professional users.
For DIFO it is important that the Danish internet society is widely represented in the association and DIFO looks forward to the collaboration with Danish Media.
“Sharing information, news and promoting dialogue is deeply rooted in the basic purpose of the internet itself. It is therefore natural to attach the Association of Danish Media as a represent of the independent private media in our forum, where I am sure that they will be a strong asset,” says Henrik Udsen, Chair of the Board in DIFO.
The CEO of the Association of Danish Media, Ebbe Dal, says:
“I am very happy that the Association of Danish Media is becoming a part of DIFO, which in so many ways is contributing positively to the cooperation and development of the Danish internet society with for instance events like Internetdagen & Dansk IGF. It is not self-evident that the administration of the .dk domain proceeds well and efficient, thus I am happy that the Association of Danish Media also gets the possibility to contribute more directly in that responsibility.”
Organizations that represents an important part of the Danish internet society can become members of DIFO. The members has the possibility to influence and consult DIFO in political and strategic matters and can thus influence the direction of the .dk domain.
