Courses in IT Security and Domain Law - Learn how to protect our domain name

In mid-November, DK Hostmaster and DIFO will host several courses covering IT security and domain name law and policy and are open for registration now.

The legal courses will give you a basic knowledge of the Domain Act and the conditions for having the right to use a .dk domain name. You also get the opportunity to learn about the various risks and consequences for your online store if you lose your domain name - and how best to protect yourself. You can also gain insight into the law that regulates disputes about domain names and how the Complaints Board for Domain Names decides on these disputes.

We are committed to strengthening security on the Internet, and therefore we offer several courses in IT security. You will get the chance to gain insight in the latest knowledge on how you increase the security on your domain name and e-mail server. You will learn about several modern and reliable standards such as DNSSEC, DMARC, IPv6, and encryption techniques. You will also have the chance to learn about the basic DNS concepts: One where you will learn about configurations, operations, and basic security aspects, and brand-new DNS course for beginners.

Legal

November 8: Disputes about .dk domain names

This course gives you an overview of the law that regulates disputes (disagreements) about registration and use of .dk domain names, and how the Complaints Board for Domain Names decides on the disputes. 

November 9: Legal insight for practitioners in the domain field

This course is for you who can use legal insight about domain names in your daily work with the Internet and domain names.

November 10: Internet user's way to a website and blocking of it 

How to achieve both effective online law enforcement and legal security on the Internet? This issue is becoming increasingly relevant as the need for regulation and resolution of disputes about online behavior comes to the fore. 

November 11: Take care of the domain name - your online store is at stake

We introduce you who do not have the technical prerequisites to what the Internet is, which technical providers that you depend on, and how to secure your rights to a domain name in the best possible way. 

IT-security

November 12: DNS – for administrators 

The course is an introduction to domains and DNS. It does not dive into the technicalities behind DNS. If you are looking for a more technical introduction to DNS, then we recommend the course: "DNS for technicians" on November 15th. Read more and sign up here.

November 15: DNS – for technicians

The course is an introduction to DNS for technicians who want insight into and knowledge of the technical aspects of DNS. If you are looking for a more basic introduction to DNS, we recommend the course: "DNS for administrators" on November 12th. Read more and sign up here.

November 16: Protect your domain name with DNSSEC

On this workshop, you will learn how to protect your domain name with DNSSEC and thereby prevent attacks by hackers.
DNSSEC is a security service available in the DNS. The service was developed to prevent hackers from modifying the name server process (DNS) and take control of a domain name. Read more and sign up here.

There will be a Q&A session on November 22nd from 2 pm to 3 pm, where follow-up issues or questions can be discussed in plenum.

November 17: DMARC implementation for technicians

During this course, you will learn how to efficiently implement DMARC to upgrade the security of your email systems. DMARC can protect organizations, customers, and partners against identity theft, spam, phishing, and malware. Read more and sign up here.

November 18: IPv6 for technicians 

During this course you will learn how to use the latest version of the IP protocol, IP version 6 - also called IPv6. The protocol is about 25 years old, so it's about time to get it activated on your servers and networks.
We start the day with some basic history and background on the IP protocol. Furthermore, we address IPv6 and the many differences and similarities to IPv4. Read more and sign up here.

November 19: Techniques for encryption of e-mail and websites

In this course you will learn to understand the basic concepts and techniques of email and website encryption. In the years following Snowden's disclosures, the importance of properly securing email communications and websites has become clear to everyone. Recently, the GDPR rules have also helped to focus on the secure transmission of data. Read more and sign up here.
