Over Easter, we have sent out information to all registrants regarding a new version of our terms of use right for .dk domain names.
The most important changes are:
- Introduction of Registrar Management, where a registrant can in future choose to let a registrar completely take care of the administration of his or her domain name and at the same time retain the same consumer protection. It will still be possible for a registrant to manage his or her domain name via DK Hostmaster Self-Service, including using a billing contact and a proxy.
- The registrant's obligation to keep contact information correct has been clarified, and so have DK Hostmasters powers to control this. The consequence of not having accurate contact information is that all of a registrant's domain names are suspended and deleted.
- The suspension period is unified so that it is 30 days regardless of the reason for suspension.

I have received an email from you regarding the new terms of use for .dk domain names, should I do something?
If you want to continue as usual, you do not need to do anything. You will continue to receive invoices for your domain name directly from DK Hostmaster, and you can manage your profile and .dk domain names in our self-service.
What does "registrar management" mean?
As something new, we offer that you can let a registrar manage your domain name, so that you only need to pay and update your contact information in one place. A registrar is often the same place you have your website hosted.
This feature will take effect at the same time as the new terms, and if you would like to find out if your registrar supports this feature, please contact them.
What does it mean that at least 2 authoritative name servers are associated with my domain name?
A name server for a domain name is the "pointer" that ensures that your domain name, website and / or e-mail works correctly. If the domain name is not associated with at least 1 authoritative (active) name server, your website and / or email will not work.
To ensure the functionality of your .dk domain name, the requirement is that there are at least 2 authoritative (active) name servers connected.
Unfortunately, you cannot have a .dk domain name if this does not point to at least 2 authoritative (active) name servers.
This is not a new condition, but we often get questions about it.
